Stakeholder Engagement

Illuma Consulting believes we need a more inclusive, effective method for addressing issues which affect a range of stakeholders. We therefore use collaborative processes to explore issues and encourage high levels of participation.

World Café "21st Century Learning - Set Menu or Moving Feast" organised and facilitated by Rhonda Tranks for cross sector stakeholders in post-secondary education.

We design processes for different client groups, giving structure to discussions so we can slow down the pace, leave behind the debating tactics and ensure different perspectives are heard.

Our Dialogue processes enable people, usually in small groups, to share their perspectives and experiences about difficult issues. Dialogue helps them resolve long-standing differences and conflicts, build deeper understanding of contentious issues, then move through the issues towards a positive conclusion.

"Many issues today cannot be addressed or resolved by a single set of governmental or other decision-makers but require cooperation between many different actors and stakeholders. Such issues will be incapable of successful resolution unless all parties are fully involved in working out the solutions, their implementation and the monitoring of results."

Hesphina Rukato and Derek Osborn, Co-Chairs of the United Nations Economic Development Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Processes, 2001
